My walking/climbing stats for Friday, December 23rd. I have finally reached my physical daily limit, and with great difficulty. But, hey, I am 69 years old after all. ?

I am not sure why, but it seriously under counts flights, and has done so since I first installed the “Steps” app on my iPhone on December 18th. I live on the second floor of this apartment complex. There are nine steps, then a small platform, followed by nine more steps to the parking lot. So, for me, one lap means going down the 18 stairs, looping through the parking lot, and then back up the stairs. Before installing the “Steps” app, I was doing 40 laps for months. Then I challenged myself and increased it to 52 laps, then to 72 laps, then to 102 laps, then to 124 laps. Finally, on my best day ever a few days ago, I did 140 laps. Yet if you scroll back in my posts, you will see that the “Steps” app only recorded it as 77 flights. As I said, I am not sure why it is doing that. According to Apple, their software and/or hardware recognizes about 16 steps as being one flight. My stairway is 18 steps plus the middle platform, which is technically more than one flight. That means that for that day that I did 140 laps, for example, it should have recorded as 280 or more flights, being as I am going up and down. Anyway, I am thinking of writing to the app’s developer to see if they can shed any light on this issue. At any rate, from Dec. 18th to Dec. 23rd, I walked and climbed a total of 40.21 miles, which is quite a lot for a 69-year-old guy like me. ? Regarding CSNet, sadly, it has never really caught on, despite how much I have promoted it on other social networks, and invested so much time, money and energy into it over tha past 2+ years. From an all-time high of about 153 members, we have now dropped to about 33 members. Even though I occasionally send out reminder email notifications — as you received — participation remains very low, and it has been very hard to retain people. Starting a while back, every month I began deleting the accounts of anyone who hadn’t logged on in six months or longer. Come January, I will be deleting even more accounts. Pretty soon, unless the tide changes, CSNet may cease to be. ???
